Packaging
In shipping or mailing an object to another area, it is the packaging that will make sure it arrives safely and intact. Whether sending by Air or Sea, proper packing depends on the item involved, where it is headed and the mailing materials that are used to make sure it is secure.
We own and operate a comprehensive workshop which offers sophisticated packing services to customers. Packing of all small and large products, etc. is done with care, professionalism and quality packing materials.
We ensure that every product received is packed professionally by using properly structured packages having the proper thickness and sizes for any kind of shipping, regardless of who the carrier is.
The quality and durability of the various packing materials used as well as the correct carton type and size, will assure you, the client that there are no mishaps between sending and destination. Certain packaging materials that are certified by quality agencies are also used wherever necessary.
Labelling
This is another critical requirement for a package to reach its destination safely and without any delay. We ensure that the label, which is available in many different sizes, is large and clearly written with all relevant track and trace data before forwarding it towards its destination.
Handling Equipment Leasing Division
Assets- The division is equipped with state of the art handling equipment of various capacities for handling containers and cargo such as,
- Reach stackers (Kalmar/Indital/Boss)
- RTG & Cranes
- Forklifts
Experience – The division is into the handling business for the last two decades and been associated as principle agents for handling of containers /Cargo for M/s. Container Corporation of India Ltd, a PSU of Indian Railways, since inception in 1989.
Manpower – The division is headed and managed by team of experts from the trade who basically hail from Indian railways, CONCOR, Defence etc and are today in a position to operate and manage any CFSs/ICDs in India.
R&M - The division is having an In-house Repairs & Maintenance team to ensure smooth functioning of the equipment and uninterrupted operational services.

Container Leasing Division
Vikram Logistics and Maritime Services Pvt. Ltd have over 300 containers for lease available in 20’GP for foreign and domestic use. We are currently giving delivery from Chennai, Cochin & Tuticorin and Kandla on both short term and long term lease. VLMS container equipment management services also offers solutions for integrated containers for domestic trucking applications and specialized equipment as per customer requirement.
Inland Container Depot (ICD) at Hassan
Hassan ICD has a close proximity to Hassan railway station (3kms) along National Highway 48, 180 kms off North West of Bangalore and 180 Kms from the New Mangalore Port.
It has a good road network connectivity to New Mangalore port by NH 48 which also acts as a corridor to SEZ at Bangalore. It also has a good connectivity to Cochin Port and Chennai Port.
The facility at ICD Hassan is spread over 12 acres of land. The following services and facilities will be offered in VLMS ICD at Hassan :-
- ICD Services – Handling of containers / cargo, In-house Customs facility, Warehousing (Bonded), Fumigation services.
- Stacking of empty / laden containers
- Transportation- Bonded trucking, Door-Door movements (trailer/truck), Empty container movements.
- Weighing scale 80MT capacity located at the gate.
For providing these services, the following facilities are available at Hassan
Warehouse: 2,500 sq. metres, pre-fabricated high roof warehouse with sloping roof with segregated area for exports & imports are available.
Free Trade Warehousing Zone
VLMS is in the process of setting up FTWZ in Chennai and Bangalore that will boast of world-class infrastructure for warehousing of various products, state-of-the-art equipment, transportation and handling facilities, commercial office-space, water, power, communications and connectivity, with one-stop clearance of import and export formality and offering easy access by road and rail to the ocean port and airport.
On offer would be customised services such as speedy delivery of cargo, one-stop 24/7 Customs clearance capability; integrated solutions, such as packing/re-packing management, labeling, sorting, inspection, re-invoicing, strapping and kitting, assembly of complete and semi-knocked down kits and
